Expedition Agreement
Every journey to the summit is built on mutual trust. By booking with Kilele Clan, you agree to these fundamental standards for safety and community.
1. Physical Fitness & Medical Risk
Mountaineering involves significant physical exertion and inherent risks, including altitude sickness (AMS), physical injury, and extreme weather exposure. You certify that you are in good physical health and have consulted a physician for high-altitude trekking.
Your Responsibility: You must accurately complete your Safety Profile in the Kilele Dashboard, including emergency contacts and medical allergies. Our guides reserve the right to deny summit access to any client displaying symptoms of severe AMS or physical distress.
2. Weather & Itinerary Changes
The mountain dictates the schedule. Kilele Clan reserves the right to modify itineraries, camp locations, or summit attempts due to weather conditions, trail closures, or safety concerns. No refunds are issued for itinerary changes prompted by safety requirements.
3. Mandatory Insurance
Evacuation Coverage
All clients are required to have comprehensive travel insurance that explicitly covers high-altitude trekking and emergency helicopter evacuation (e.g., AMREF Flying Doctors). Kilele Clan is not liable for costs associated with rescue or medical treatment.
4. Community & Clan Standards
We are a socially-conscious clan. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for harassment or mistreatment of our porters, guides, or fellow travelers. We follow the Leave No Trace principles—nothing but footprints stays on the mountain.
Legal Disclaimer
Kilele Clan Outdoors acts as an organizer for expeditions. By booking, you acknowledge that you are voluntarily participating in an activity with inherent dangers and waive the right to sue the organizers for injuries resulting from the natural risks of the mountain environment.
